Pledge for a plastic free India on Gandhi Jayanti

2019 has been a year of pledge for freeing India from indiscriminate use of plastic. Prime Minister NarendraDamodarModi on his Independence Day speech at Red Fort addressed the nation calling for single use plastic from October 2nd 2019. In his heart wrenching speech Modi upholds the unique climatic features of our country that have generously contributed to the economic and cultural condition of India. His moving speech was also replete with salutations for the great national heroes whose lives have been dedicated to India’s independence struggle. He emphasized on the eternal Indian philosophies ‘SevaParmoDharmah’ and ‘SwantahSukhaayah’ that have been the motto of Gandhiji’s life.

This year’s 2nd October the nation is preparing for celebration of the 150th birthday of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi who became the omnipotent “voice of innumerable Indians” during his lifetime. His values and principles showed the nation the path to real freedom in the global platform. In keeping with ethos of Gandhiji, the government of India has been running a nationwide campaign “Swachhata He Seva” (cleanliness is service to mankind) a few weeks before every Gandhi Jayanti. This year the program will be held on 11 September in which countrymen will join hands to offer “shramadaan” and “karyanjali” to Bapuji through their toil and sweat. Prime Minister NarendraModi called for indiscriminate participation of the countrymen in schools, colleges, workplaces, neighbourhood, streets and various circles for this mega campaign on general sanitation. In keeping to the true spirit of Gandhiji’s philosophy of “collectiveness through a sense of service”, he emphasized on “community service” and “community mobilization” that every citizen should imbibe in their life.

This year’s mission of “Swachhata He Seva” campaign is banning plastic and plastic products from the grass root level. NarendraModi ascertained that enthusiastic and tireless campaign against “single use” of plastic will protect our environment from greater damages in future. He urged the countrymen to carry bags with them during shopping and not asking the retailer for providing plastic carry bags to them. He summons all the governmental and non-governmental organisations to come forward and ensure proper disposal of plastic before this Diwali. Plastic can be recycled or burnt into fuel and thus we may prevent environmental pollution to large extent. Modi is optimistic in execution of this massive task and summons every single citizen of India to inspire themselves with the principles of Mahatma Gandhi’s life.

Prime Minister concluded his inspiring his countrymen to participate in the PoshyaAbhiyaan and Fit India Movement during September. He also urged for the voluntary service of the citizens of India in SwachhtaAbhiyaan from 11 September till 2 October which marks the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. The day has been dedicated to complete abolition from plastic and move towards a green revolution. With all our might we must strive towards a plastic free world and save our Mother Earth from the harmful effects of global warming. Awareness is the first step towards such goal and it can be achieved with new resolution, new zeal and renewed strength.

I’m impressed, I must say. Seldom do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and engaging, and let me tell you, you
have hit the nail on the head. The problem is something which too few people are speaking intelligently about.

Now i’m very happy I stumbled across this in my hunt for something
regarding this.
